Experience Hands-On Learning


Are you looking for an internship that can catapult your career? Learn hands-on as you collaborate along-side the world’s best cognitive systems design team. Working directly with your mentor, you will learn critical skills, expertise and how to be an effective engineer. Engage in weekly small group training sessions hosted by RCS’s President, Bill Elm, to further your understanding and support your ongoing quest for knowledge.

Challenging, Meaningful Work

As an RCS intern, you’ll learn first hand how to become a cognitive problem solver – the foundational skills of a world-class Cognitive Systems Engineer (CSE). You’ll gain the immediate benefits of “compressed learning” by working as part of a small, cutting edge team on projects that blend the art of Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, Computer Science, and Data Science.

You’ll work on the design of information systems that enable advanced human decision-making in complex mission environments. You’ll prototype, test, and deploy real-world decision support systems that are cognitively resilient and comfortable for users. Who knows, maybe your fingerprints will be all over a new game-changing customer solution!

Only a few RCS internships are awarded to outstanding applicants each year. The deadline to submit your application is January 30th. Selection announcements will be made February 15th. Anyone submitting after the deadline will be evaluated on a case by case basis until March 30th if summer intern positions remain available.



Internship Onboarding

Week one of your internship includes an integrated process of training, learning, and real work load right out of the gate. You are a member of the project team and will be mentored in parallel with ramp-up training.
